Letter From Pastor Tom

At the beginning of this year, by the Lord’s leading, the leadership at Bread of Life Church brought a series of messages to prepare the church for the potential of difficult times. Not knowing exactly what that could mean, we began to teach from the Bible on the subject of facing and enduring trial. We taught on how to be “Stable in Uncertain Times,” to be “Secure in God,” and, most recently, to “Fear Not.”

As we are now facing the COVID-19 crisis, we realize that God was preparing us for what was coming. Now that these changes are here, we do not have to forfeit the culture of the Kingdom of God that we enjoy in the church. We are still called to embrace worship and relationship. In order to continue in the life we have together, we will use current tools of communication technology to stay connected and remain fruitful until this crisis is over.

Recently, guidance has been provided by health care professionals and government agencies regarding reopening of churches at a very limited capacity. While we are planning to reopen public services soon, instead of coming to the church building this Sunday morning for a corporate gathering, we will continue have them online at: bolcflive.online.church. We will also be meeting in homes with groups of ten and under to participate in the livestream service and for a time of prayer. This provides a way for us to hear the word of God and encourage one another until we are able to meet at the church facility. We will still be able to participate in the Sunday worship service through any electronic devices that are able to livestream video.

For our Wednesday evening Made New discussions, be sure to click the livestream button on the home page to be a part of Bible teaching followed by a video meeting via Zoom. We are able to accommodate a sizable group where we enjoy a question-and-answer discussion to facilitate learning.

Since communication is crucial at a time like this, we will be using the website, Facebook, Instagram, email, and text messaging to keep information current. We will also make personal phone calls to check on and encourage one another. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us through any means possible. The leadership at Bread of Life is available and willing to help.

God’s word promises that if we are faithful, He will be faithful. While fear can be a motivator to draw back from God’s word, faith prevails and operates in obedience, even when times require courage. With that said, we will continue to faithfully give our tithes and offerings from the income God provides. This will enable the storehouse of the church to continue to serve the needs of the saints. (Malachi 3:10-12)

Since offerings will not be received at the church location, we encourage the use of safe and secure online giving. To give your tithe and offering online, please visit: bolcf.org/give. If you are not sure how to use the online giving option, just call, and we would be glad to walk you through using this simple and reliable service.

Lastly, we will continue to live in the wisdom that God revealed at the beginning of 2020. Let us persevere in faith as we look to the days ahead with expectation and hope. Keep in mind that this is a clear opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and to be a witness to our community. He is the answer for every season of life and we carry the message of love and hope. May the grace of God be with us all.

Sincerely,

Tom Bedford

Senior Pastor
